Tonetag: Now use your vehicle’s FasTag to pay for petrol/diesel online, without any hassle

Now pay for petrol/diesel and vehicle’s FasTag using Amazon and Mastercard-backed ToneTag, which has recently been introduced as the latest mode of making payments. This ‘pay by car’ service can be availed by linking the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with the car’s infotainment system. Using this car owners can pay digitally for fuel and FasTag via their smartphone.
The payment company, ToneTag demonstrated this new technology in partnership with MG Hector and Bharat Petroleum.
How to use ‘Pay by car’
When a car owner drives to a fuel station, the fuel dispenser number shows on the car’s infotainment system, and the soundbox announces the customer’s arrival to inform the fuel station staff. Following that, customers enter the amount announced through a soundbox for the completion of the online transaction.
Furthermore, the company said that the ‘pay by car’ service can also be used for recharging the car’s Fastag, with the balance being displayed on the car’s infotainment screen.
Earlier, ToneTag had successfully developed an offline voice-based payment system through any phone under RBI’s sandbox. The aim was to enable digital payments for people who are still learning to use apps.
