Punjab BJP expels 4 leaders for ‘anti-party activities’

The Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday expelled four leaders from the Garhshankar constituency in Hoshiarpur for being involved in “anti-party” activities.

The expelled leaders include Nimisha Mehta, Dalvinder Singh Dhillon, Kuldeep Singh, and Gurpreet Singh. They have been removed from their positions within the party with immediate effect due to their alleged anti-party activities.

The decision comes after deliberations by the BJP Punjab’s disciplinary committee, which was convened to assess the situation and take appropriate measures in response to allegations of anti-party activities against the four leaders.

The Punjab BJP spokesperson, Jeevan Gupta, released a press statement regarding the decision. Gupta clarified that the expulsion of these leaders was carried out based on the findings of the disciplinary committee, which found them in violation of the party’s constitution under Article XXV concerning disciplinary matters.

“As per the disciplinary committee’s assessment and in accordance with the decision of the State President, Sunil Jakhar, all the aforementioned individuals have been expelled from the party with immediate effect. Additionally, they have been relieved of any responsibilities or roles within the party,” Gupta said.
