G20 Summit: PM Modi took to microblogging site X (formerly Twitter) and said “numerous topics” were discussed in the “productive meeting”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden met on the sidelines of the G20 Summit scheduled to kick start from tomorrow in the national capital. The two global leaders discussed a wide range of issues and measures to deepen the bilateral relationship between New Delhi and Washington DC.
PM Modi took to microblogging site X (formerly Twitter) and said “numerous topics” were discussed in the “productive meeting”.
“Happy to have welcomed @POTUS @JoeBiden to 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. Our meeting was very productive. We were able to discuss numerous topics which will further economic and people-to-people linkages between India and USA. The friendship between our nations will continue to play a great role in furthering global good, ” the prime minister wrote.

The two leaders commended progress in implementing outcomes from the Indian prime minister’s historic State Visit to the US and lauded sustained momentum in iCET, defence, space and other areas.
PM Modi thanked President Biden for the US’s consistent support of India’s G20 Presidency.
He conveyed his appreciation for President Biden’s vision and commitment to further strengthen the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, which is based on shared democratic values, strategic convergences and strong people-to-people ties.
The two global leaders also welcomed the sustained momentum in bilateral cooperation, including in the areas of defence, trade, investment, education, health, research, innovation, culture and people-to-people ties.
Meanwhile, President Biden warmly congratulated PM Modi and the people of India on Chandrayaan-3’s historic landing near the lunar south pole and highlighted deepening cooperation between the two countries in Space.
The two leaders also exchanged views on a number of regional and global issues.
President Biden will be participating in the G20 Summit in New Delhi on September 9-10, 2023. This is his first visit to India in his capacity as the US President.
