All Schools Till Class 12 To Remain Shut In Barabanki Due To Heavy Rain

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh has been facing very heavy rainfall for the last few days which has also led to loss of life in some parts of the state and other damage has also been seen. Seeing the weather conditions, schools have been shut by the district and city administrations of different parts of Uttar Pradesh. Due to continuous heavy rain, lightning and waterlogging, the District Magistrate (DM) of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh has issued an order that all schools will remain closed today, on September 13, 2023. The order that announces the closing of schools, includes all kinds of schools in both rural and urban areas.

Barabanki Schools Shut Today Due To Heavy Rain

As mentioned earlier, the District Magistrate of Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh has ordered the closure of all schools in both urban and rural areas today, due to the heavy rain and waterlogging the state is facing. The order has been issued for all government, non-government aided and private schools, from pre-primary to class 12 students in the district.

Keeping in mind the safety of the students and the teaching, non-teaching and other working staff, the district administration of Barabanki has taken this step. Schools were also closed by the Lakhimpur Kheri, Barabanki district administration on September 12, 2023 due to the same reason.

Uttar Pradesh Rains Have Caused Loss Of Life

At least 19 people died and several others injured in the past 24 hours as heavy rainfall continued to lash Uttar Pradesh, disrupting normal life. Due to the heavy rains- waterlogging, roof collapse, cases of drowning and deaths caused by lightning were also reported in several parts of the state. Over 56,000 people have been affected by the floods in about 10 districts in the state.

As per latest reports, total 19 tehsils spanning 10 districts, encompassing around 173 villages, are grappling with floods, affecting 55,982 people after just one full day of rain across the state.

Red alert has also been issued in different parts of the state by the meteorological department, seeing the torrential rain and lightning. IMD has also predicted moderate to heavy downpours in many parts of the country till September 14, 2023.

Meal packets have been distributed to the affected families and support has also been extended to those who have tragically lost their family members in this downpour. Medical camps have also been set up and relief activities are underway; apart from the humans, the four-legged buddies are also not being ignored- vaccinations are also being given to stray animals.
