Farah Khan hasn’t made a movie in a while, but fans still can’t get over her movies like ‘Main Hoon Na’ and ‘Om Shanti Om‘ which has now become iconinc in many ways. It was Deepika Padukone’s debut film and fans loved her chemistry with Shah Rukh Khan. Not to mention, the songs in the film and SRK’s dialogues are remembered over the years. Another strong memory that ‘Om Shanti Om’ holds is that the song ‘Deewangi’ brought together the biggest stars from the industry. There were 31 stars in the song. However, Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan were missing from the song.
In a recent interview on Maniesh Paul’s podcast, Farah revealed the real reason why Big B and Aamir weren’t a part of the song. The director said that Mr Bachchan couldn’t come because Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan were getting married that week. But the reason Aamir gave was too funny, said Farah. She revealed that Aamir told her that he was editing ‘Taare Zameen Par’ that time so he can’t come. Farah then requested him that she will get the shoot done in two hours. Yet, Aamir called her and said that he’s editing the movie and if he leaves the editing and comes for two hours then his film will be delayed by six months.
Much later, when Farah asked him the real reason, Aamir told her that he didn’t want to come. Earlier the director had said in an interview that SRK had promised Farah that he will also get Dilip Kumar and Saira Banu on board. Meanwhile, Salman Khan and Saif Ali Khan wanted to see Dharmendra dance and that impromptu moment was captured beautifully in the song.
‘Om Shanti Om’ had released on the same day with ‘Saawariya’ which was Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor’s debut.
