Teen injured after falling from stolen car during another boy’s alleged Caboolture dangerous joyride

A 17-year-old boy has been injured when falling from an allegedly stolen car being driven by another teenage boy north of Brisbane.

The two boys involved in the incident at Caboolture on Thursday night were known to each other, but police have not revealed their specific relationship.

The 17-year-old boy suffered chest and stomach injuries when he tried to stop the 16-year-old boy driving away in a Subaru from a Beerburrum Rd home about 10.30pm “by reaching into the vehicle”, which is believed to have been stolen from Caboolture on Thursday morning, police said.

The older boy’s injuries were not life-threatening and he was taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Police spotted the 16-year-old boy in the Subaru allegedly speeding down the wrong side of a Caboolture road about an hour later.

Officers searching the area found the car dumped about 11.45pm. They then found the boy allegedly hiding in a yard a short distance away.

The 16-year-old boy has also been accused of crashing into a Nissan Patrol at Morayfield earlier in the night and fleeing the scene.

The boy, from Morayfield, has been charged with dangerous driving and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is due to appear in the Caboolture Children’s Court on Friday.

Police have appealed for witnesses of any further activity of the red Subaru in the Caboolture area on Thursday night to come forward.
