Weather presenter Sam Mac couldn’t wait to show off an X-rated work of “Shirvo”, after challenging a bunch of painting students for their artistic interpretations.
Crossing live from a Penrith art class, Sam had asked participants to paint either Shirvo or his co-host Natalie Barr in 30 minutes.
“The results will astound you,” Sam told the hosts back at Brekky Central, as Shirvo uttered, “Please be Nat, please be Nat”.
“Luckily you’re not easily offended,” Sam told them as he kicked off the tour of the finished artworks.
The portraits were divided between interpretations of Nat and Shirvo, although one painting student opted for a mix of both – drawing a face that was half of each presenter.
As Sam made his way to the last one, he laughed to himself before saying, “There’s one more that I haven’t shown you yet and I’m not sure if I can show this.”
“Um, ah, s**** it. It’s Friday!”
The camera turned to show the “final masterpiece”.
The artist didn’t “even put his head on there”, instead focusing on a Shirvo in lycra – based on his former Olympic Games outfit.
The TV presenter was a sprinter, best known as having been a semi-finalist in the 100-metre sprint in Sydney 2000.
“Oh wow,” Shirvo said as he saw the interpretation.
“Leah, tell us about this one,” Sam asked the painter.
“Well, I hear you were in the Olympics, so I really wanted to capture a lycra moment,” Leah laughed.
‘Lower half only’
“Very good,” Shirvo responded as Sam asked her if it “was necessary to capture his upper body?”
“No, lower half only,” she ensured.
“I mean anyone who has watched the Olympics knows that we’ve seen his ‘peno’,” Sam cheekily said, leaving the presenters in hysterics.
“Ladies and gentlemen give it up for all our artists this morning!” Sam enthusiastically said.
Changing the topic, Shirvo went back to the portrait of both himself and Nat.
“That’s very good, I think I like the hybrid the best,” he said.
“Yep of course you do,” Nat laughed.
