Queen’s funeral: Meghan Markle joins Kate Middleton, George, Charlotte at Westminster Abbey


In a day of moving moments at Queen Elizabeth’s funeral, images of a sad-looking Prince George and Princess Charlotte inside Westminster Abbey ranked high on the list.

On Monday, the young royals joined those in the senior ranks to farewell the 96-year-old monarch, who died in Scotland on September 8.

George, nine, and Charlotte, seven, arrived with their parents William, Prince of Wales, and Catherine, Princess of Wales.

They walked behind the Queen’s coffin inside the abbey, and at one point Kate, George, and Charlotte were pictured standing, united in grief, next to Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

William and Kate’s youngest son, Prince Louis, four, was deemed to young to attend the Queen’s funeral.

Charlotte and George arrived in a car with Kate and Queen Consort Camilla, while Meghan arrived separately with Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

However, the moment of togetherness seen when Meghan stood with Kate and her children wasn’t to last long.

Prince Harry and Meghan sat behind King Charles III, his siblings and Camilla in the second row to the right of the Queen’s coffin.

Sitting next to Meghan was Prince Andrew’s daughter Beatrice.

But William, Kate and their children sat on the other side of the coffin, with Peter Phillips and Zara and Mike Tindall.
