oneplus: OnePlus Ace Racing Edition to feature Dimensity 8100-Max chipset, 120Hz LCD screen

OnePlus is all set to launch the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition in China tomorrow (May 17). Ahead of the launch, the company has revealed key specifications of the upcoming special edition device. OnePlus CEO (China), Louis Li has revealed in a post on Weibo that the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition will feature a LCD display with 120H of refresh rate. He has also confirmed that the special edition smartphone will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 81-Max chipset under the hood.
The smartphone is already available for pre-order in China via Oppo mall and JD.com. The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition will be the second Ace-series smartphone from the company after the OnePlus Ace that was launched recently.
This is not the first time OnePlus is launching a special edition for its smartphone. In the last few years, the company has rolled out several special edition devices such as OnePlus Nord 2 PAC-Man edition, OnePlus 8T Cyberpunk 2077 Edition, OnePlus 6 Avengers Edition and others.
As the company has rebranded the OnePlus Ace as the OnePlus 10R in India, it is not yet known whether the special edition device will make it to the India streets. Keeping the previous launches in mind, it can be expected that the company may launch special edition OnePlus device in the country as well.
OnePlus Ace Racing Edition rumoured specifications
The OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is said to feature a 6.59-inch LCD LTPS Full HD+ display with 1080 x 2412 pixels resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. When it comes to camera, the device is said to feature a triple rear camera setup with a 64MP primary sensor along with an 8MP ultra wide angle sensor and a 2MP sensor. For selfies and video calls, the OnePlus Ace Racing Edition is said to get a 16MP camera at the front.
Under the hood, the smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 8100-Max chipset. The SoC is said to be paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. The device will run on Android 12 out of the box. Under the hood, the device is said to be backed by a 5,000mAh battery.
