Canterbury Bulldogs’ roster cleanout has continued, with young gun Paul Alamoti linking with the Panthers on a one-year deal.
Alamoti was identified as a player of potential when he made his NRL debut against Manly in round one, after playing for NSW in the under 19s State of Origin last season.
However, the centre’s season didn’t go to plan, prompting his post-season exit, and a move to the reigning premiers next year.

This year, the Bulldogs have announced the departure of 10 players including Alamoti with Tevita Pangai Junior and Josh Reynolds retiring.
Fa’amanu Brown and Brandon Clarke were released from their contracts while Andrew Davey joined the Eels mid-season.
Jake Averillo (Dolphins), Kyle Flanagan (Dragons), Jayden Okunbor (Hull FC) and Franklin Pele (Hull FC) will all play for different sides in 2024 while Raymond Faitala-Mariner has also been given permission to negotiate with rivals.
Joining Alamoti at the Panthers will be former Raiders and current Hull KR half, Brad Schneider, who has signed on for two years.
“On behalf of all at Panthers, we look forward to welcoming Paul and Brad to the club,” Panthers Rugby League chief executive officer, Matt Cameron, said.

“Paul is a talented young player with ample potential. His experience and capabilities make him a great addition to our squad and we look forward to him joining the club.
“Brad joins the Panthers with NRL and Super League experience and will add depth to the club’s top 30 squad. Brad is a talented playmaker and we believe he will flourish in Panthers colours.”
Schneider will be seen as a replacement for Newcastle-bound Jack Cogger while Alamoti could potentially fill the spot vacated by Stephen Crichton.
