Maruti Suzuki recalls over 9000 units of Grand Vitara, Eritiga, XL6: Here’s why


India’s largest automaker Maruti Suzuki India has issued a recall of 9,125 cars comprising models like the new Grand Vitara, Ertiga, XL6 and Ciaz. The recall affects cars that were manufactured between November 2-28, 2022.
The reason for the recall is to inspect a possible defect in one of the child parts of the shoulder height adjuster assembly of the front seatbelts, which could lead to seat belt disassembly. Owners of the cars will be contacted by the dealerships individually and will be examined and if found faulty, necessary repairs will be made at no additional cost.
Talking about upcoming Maruti cars in 2023, the company has some really big plans for the Indian market. The company recently launched the Grand Vitara SUV and the company is planning to expand its SUV portfolio with a range of new models.
Maruti Suzuki India launched the updated Baleno to the Indian market starting this year. And now the company is all ready to launch the Baleno Cross in the year 2023.
Maruti Brezza CNG
Maruti Suzuki recently launched the updated Brezza for the Indian market at a starting price of Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The car is offered with a sole 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which has a claimed fuel efficiency of 20.15 km for manual and 19.80 km for automatic.
However, Maruti Suzuki aims to make it even more efficient with the introduction of a CNG variant soon.
Grand Vitara CNG
The Maruti Grand Vitara CNG will be soon launched in the Indian market.
The Grand Vitra CNG will be powered by a 1.5-litre NA Petrol engine which produces 103hp and 136Nm in petrol mode and 88hp and 121.5Nm in CNG mode. The Grand Vitara CNG is expected to only get the 5-speed manual gearbox and is expected to deliver 26.10km/kg of claimed fuel economy.
The upcoming Vitara CNG variant price is likely to command a premium of Rs 70,000 over the standard variant.
