Twenty-one years after Justin Timberlake shattered hearts worldwide and left NSYNC, the boyband has reunited.
The five members of the 90s band reunited on stage at the VMAs on Tuesday, presenting the Best Pop award to Taylor Swift.
Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick put on a united front walking towards the microphone to present the award – as the crowd went wild.

Among the squealing fans were Swift and rapper Ice Spice in the crowd.
“Twenty years ago we were just kids when we won best pop video – remember Bye Bye Bye? It was our first VMA and it meant the world to us,” Chasez told the crowd.
“That award validated all our hard work,” Kirkpatrick added.
“A lot has changed in the last two decades but one thing remains constant – a creative, boundary-pushing video leaves a lasting mark for decades,” Bass said.
“We just wanted to say thank you MTV and thank you to you guys,” Fatone said.
Timberlake then announced the “unstoppable” Taylor Swift had won.
Taking to the stage, Swift appeared to fan girl over the “pop personified” group as they presented her with friendship bracelets – made famous as a token fans share amongst one another on her Eras Tour.
Swift said she was “not doing well” pivoting from the NSYNC reunion to suddenly winning an award.
“I had your dolls,” she told them before asking the question on everyone’s lips.
“Are you doing something? What’s going to happen now?” she said, perhaps hoping for a performance.
“They’re going to do something and I need to know what it is!”
“You guys are pop personified, so to receive this (award) from your golden pop hands it’s too much.
“Thank you for the friendship bracelets,” she added.
Following the surprise reunion, the internet was set alight with excitement from NSYNC fans.
“This is amazing! NSYNC was one of my favourite bands growing up,” one tweet read.
“Screaming, crying, throwing up. NSYNC is back!” a second said.
“I have missed you guys so much, please perform again,” one wrote.
“I screamed and my mum looked at me like I was crazy,” added another.
Timberlake announced his departure from NSYNC in April 2002 but the four remaining members made several joint appearances since.
“There’s no reason my solo career and *NSYNC can’t coexist in the same universe. *NSYNC is in no danger. The break we’re on was a conscious move. We all wanted to do it, and we were ready to do it. Performing at stadiums every night for 50,000 fans takes a little out of you … The time was right; we were all in the same zone,” Timberlake told The New York Post in November 2002.
In 2007, Bass confirmed the group was done for good.
The band formed in the mid-90s.
Some of its biggest hits included Bye, Bye, Bye, It’s Gonna Be Me, I Want You Back and Gone.
