The Aprilia RS 457 features a fairly similar design as the RS 660 as well as the bigger RSV4 1100 with twin LED headlamps with LED DRLs, the sporty looking fairing and a curvy, small windscreen. Powering the motorcycle is a new liquid-cooled parallel twin-cylinder engine that puts out 47 hp of maximum power, mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The bike has a dry weight of 159 kg, which rises up to 175 kg with fuel and other liquids. Suspension duties are taken care of by a 41 mm USD front fork with 120 mm travel, and a preload adjustable monoshock at the back with 130 mm travel. The braking system consists of a 320 mm front disc with a ByBre radial-mount 4-piston caliper, coupled to a 220 mm disc brake at the back with ByBre caliper. The motorcycle also gets a dual-channel ABS, which is switchable on the rear wheel.
The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wheels, wrapped in 110/70 (front) and 150/60 (rear) section tyres. Aprilia has equipped the RS 457 with a 5-inch TFT colour instrument cluster, while it also gets three riding modes, three traction control modes, as well as an optional quickshifter. Pricing for the Aprilia RS 457 is yet to be announced, but we do know that it will serve as a direct rival to the Kawasaki Ninja 400. The RS 457 will be built at Piaggio India’s Baramati, Maharashtra plant, which might result in a competitive price tag.
