The summit will be hosted at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam Convention Center at Pragati Maidan in central Delhi.
India is all set to host the two-day G20 Summit in New Delhi starting today. From a global perspective, it can mark a historic turning point for the G20, and India can lead an inclusive, ambitious, action-oriented, and decisive G20. Ahead of the inauguration of the G20 Summit on Saturday, global leaders from across the world have arrived in the national capital.
The leaders who reached the national capital include US President Joe Biden, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Argentina President Alberto Fernandez, and Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida. South African President Cyril Ramaphosa also reached India.
The summit will be hosted at the state-of-the-art Bharat Mandapam Convention Center at Pragati Maidan in central Delhi.
Here’s the full schedule of G20 Summit 2023:
Day 1 (September 9)
9:30 am to 10:30 am: The Summit would commence with the arrival of the world leaders at the venue (Bharat Mandapam) from 9.30 am onwards. At around 10.30 the first session of the G20 Summit: ‘One Earth’ will take place.
3 pm onwards: After the conclusion of the ‘One Earth’ session, and followed by lunch, another session of ‘One Family’ will be conducted at 3.00 p.m. as a part of the Summit.
7 pm: At around 7:00 pm in the evening hours, the dinner hosted by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu will take place. Besides the foreign delegates parliamentarians and ministers in the current Cabinet, the G20 Summit dinner will be attended by some of the former senior leaders of the nation.
Day 2 (September 10)
Leaders and delegations will arrive at Rajghat at 8 a.m. and a signing of the peace wall inside the Leaders’ Lounge at Rajghat.
From 9 a.m. onwards, world leaders will lay wreaths at Mahatma Gandhi’s samadhi followed by a live performance of Mahatma Gandhi’s favourite devotional songs. Leaders and delegation heads will then relocate to the Leaders’ Lounge at the Bharat Mandapam.
10 am onwards: At Bharat Mandapam’s South Plaza, a tree planting ceremony will take place.
10:30 am to 12:30 pm: ‘One Future’, the third session of the summit will take place at the venue followed by the adoption of the New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration.
