Ada Nicodemou takes fans behind the scenes of Home and Away

Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has taken fans on a behind-the-scenes tour of the show’s sets, chronicling a not-so-typical day in the life of her character.

In a video posted to Instagram, Ada kicks off her morning in the makeup chair, brushing up on her lines as a hair and makeup artist transforms her into Leah Patterson.

Makeup-free and with hair pulled back into a simple ponytail, Ada looks fresh-faced and bouncing with energy.

“Now in the makeup chair!” she says as her makeup artist shouts, “Let’s do it, yay!”

Donning reading glasses, Ada notes: “So, while in the makeup chair, I also learn my lines.”

The video then cuts to Ada arriving at the garage set, wearing dark sunglasses and a colourful jacket.

“So, I just got to the garage set now, and I’m gonna do my first scene!” she explains.

Then James Stewart, who plays Justin Morgan, pops by to say hello.

“Don’t I love this set?” Ada asks, prompting a grin from James.

“Well, no, the garage is not really Ada’s favourite set, but the rest of us like it!” he says.

Next, Ada is at her second set of the day, the exterior of Summer Bay House with “beautiful” director Chris Martin Jones and another crew member, Tony Gardiner.

“So this scene is with the beautiful Em,” she says, referring to Emily Symons, who plays Marilyn Chambers on the show.

“It’s just a nice two-hander,” Ada continues, as Emily smiles for the camera.

Things take a turn for the worse, however, as a lovely sunny day transforms into a grim, wet one.

Suddenly, Ada is filming a heavy downpour and grey skies.

“So, look at this,” Ada says, panning around.

“So, um, hopefully we can shoot.”

‘It’s a wrap’

But it wasn’t to be, with the rest of the day’s filming cancelled due to inclement weather.

“Okay, so let’s just say we didn’t finish the shoot,” she concludes later that evening.

“There’s thunderstorms and lightning … Surely that’s a song,” she jokes, referring to the Queen classic Bohemian Rhapsody.

“Um, so yeah, it’s a wrap. It’s a wrap!”

Fans loved Ada’s insight into a day of shooting their favourite TV drama.

“Thank you, wow, you really all work together wonderfully, thank you for sharing this Ada,” one fan wrote.

“Loved this!! Thank you for sharing lovely,” wrote another.

“Hi to everyone at Summer Bay,” added a third.

Wrote one follower: “Aweeee love Home & Away!! You guys are the best.”

“How do you remember your lines?” one fan asked.

“I read a sentence and forget.”

“Practice!” Ada responded.

‘Always summer in Summer Bay’

One fan wondered why scenes weren’t shot even when the weather wasn’t so good.

“Why don’t you just work with the weather and shoot when it’s raining?” the fan asked.

Ada replied: “They always have to give the impression it’s always summer in Summer Bay lol.”

“So that’s why you never see a character with big coats or umbrellas,” she added.
