New York Jets fans thought they had solved their decades-long quarterback problem when they acquired Aaron Rodgers in an off-season trade with the Green Bay Packers.
Mere minutes into his Jets debut at home, however, Rodgers suffered an ankle injury when he was sacked by Buffalo Bills defensive end Leonard Floyd on his first drive.
Rodgers was eventually carted to the locker room and ruled out with an ankle injury on Monday. The Jets said X-rays were negative.
It was a tough pill for Jets fans to swallow. Perhaps the New York Daily News summed it up best with their sports front — “Welcome to their Nightmare.”
Here is a look at some of the reaction.
