A woman and her baby were injured when their car was struck from behind by another car at “high speed”, before the driver was taken down by a group of Townsville lawn bowlers.
The woman and girl, and another passenger, were travelling along on Francis St in West End on Sunday afternoon when they were allegedly struck by the Landcruiser.
The crash occurred at “high speed” but they escaped with minor injuries, according to acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Kirkham.

The impact caused the Landcruiser to veer off the road and through the fence of a house on the street. No one in the home was injured.
The alleged driver, a 30-year-old man, has been accused of running from the scene.
CCTV footage obtained by 7NEWS shows the moment members of the public, including nearby lawn bowlers, gave chase.
They were able to catch him a short distance away and performed a citizen’s arrest.
“The guy who was in that car just started running away, so a couple of us chased him,” said bowler Ryan Kelly.
“We were lucky enough to catch up with him and just held him until the cops arrived.”
The man, from Wulguru in Townsville, was taken to hospital under police guard for assessment.
He has been charged with unlicensed driving, driving unregistered, driving an uninsured vehicle and possessing dangerous drugs.
He remains behind bars ahead of an appearance in Townsville Magistrates Court on Monday.
