G20 New Delhi 2023: The leaders of the Group of Twenty (G20) on Saturday embraced the “G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration: Delivering Quality Education” with the aim of revolutionizing the education system.
One of the primary objectives of this agenda is to emphasize the significance of foundational learning in bridging the digital divide while also aiding educational institutions and teachers in adjusting to emerging trends.
The G20 leads have also reached a consensus on the expansion of accessibility to high-quality Technical and Vocational and Training (TVET), promoting scientific cooperation, and facilitating lifelong learning, especially for vulnerable and marginalized groups.
Key Highlights from the G20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration on Education
1. Recognize the importance of foundational learning (literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional skills) as the primary building block for education and employment.
2. Reiterate our commitment to harnessing digital technologies to overcome the digital divide for all learners.
3. Extend support to educational institutions and teachers to enable them to keep pace with emerging trends and technological advances including AI.
4. Emphasize expanding access to high-quality Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
