Blue Jays’ Bichette not in starting lineup, available off bench vs. Royals

Toronto Blue Jays all-star shortstop Bo Bichette will not be in the starting lineup Saturday against the Kansas City Royals.

Bichette returned from the 10-day injured list Friday and will be available off of the bench as the Blue Jays “seek to build up him” following a right quad strain, according to Sportsnet’s Shi Davidi.

The 25-year-old Bichette leads the Blue Jays with a .315 batting average and 154 hits. He’s also second on the club with 18 home runs and 64 RBIs.

Bichette batted second in the order Friday night and went 2-for-5 with a double, one run scored and two RBIs to help the Blue Jays defeat the Royals 5-4.

Watch the Blue Jays take on the Royals live on Sportsnet or SN NOW starting at 3 p.m. ET / noon PT.
