Staff who work at a Pregnancy Advisory Centre in Woodville will be moved out of the building after complaints it contained mould, was prone to bug infestations and had a leaking roof.
Health unions inspected the centre on Belmore Tce in Adelaide’s west in July following complaints from members the building was unsafe with black mould seen throughout the site and no air conditioning.
Doctors and nurses also raised concerns the centre had structural faults, its roof leaked and was prone to bug infestations.

The state’s work health and safety regulator, SafeWork SA, said it met with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation and SA Health following the inspection and is now conducting its own inquiries.
A Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) spokesperson said it was working to address the immediate concerns as well as the short and medium-term building issues.
Services at the unplanned pregnancy centre, such as abortions and post-abortion support, would still be provided until alternative locations are confirmed, they said.
“We are currently looking at alternative locations to relocate staff and are continuing consultation with staff, consumers and stakeholders,” a CALHN spokesperson said.
