Kourtney Kardashian Barker is opening up about a terrifying recent emergency. Earlier today, the pregnant TV star posted a black-and-white photo on Instagram of herself with an IV in her arm, holding hands with her husband Travis Barker.
“I will be forever grateful to my incredible doctors for saving our baby’s life. I am eternally grateful to my husband who rushed to my side from tour to be with me in the hospital and take care of me afterwards, my rock. And to my mom, thank you for holding my hand through this,” Kourtney’s Instagram began.
“As someone who has had three really easy pregnancies in the past, I wasn’t prepared for the fear of rushing into urgent fetal surgery. I don’t think anyone who hasn’t been through a similar situation can begin to understand that feeling of fear. I have a whole new understanding and respect for the mamas who have had to fight for their babies while pregnant,” continued Kourtney, who shares three kids—Mason, 13, Penelope, 11, and Reign, 8—with ex Scott Disick. “Praise be to God. Walking out of the hospital with my baby boy in my tummy and safe was the truest blessing. 🙏🏼🤍.”
Back on June 16, Kourtney initially announced she was pregnant with her and Travis’ first child together via an iconic moment at one of the musician’s Blink-182 concerts in which Kourtney held up a sign that read, “Travis, I’m pregnant.” The moment was actually an homage to the band’s 1999 music video for “All the Small Things,” in which a woman appears at one of the drummer’s performances in an airplane hangar and holds up a sign that reads the same thing.
In the time since, the couple has shared many adorable moments of their pregnancy journey. But on Friday, September 1, Blink-182 announced it was postponing several European show dates because of a family emergency Travis was going through.
“Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States,” the band posted to X (formerly known as Twitter). “The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available.”
It wasn’t until a few days later on September 4 that a source told People about Kourtney’s “brief” stay in a hospital, confirming she was “back home now with her kids.”
“She is feeling better,” the insider added. “She is happy to have Travis back home, too.”
Happy to hear Kourt is doing well. 🥺❤️
